Books

What I read, and what changed because I read it

One entry per book: what it says, what I did with it, and what I left out. Books that gave me little are here too, with the reason.

The library: 132 books, and where I read them from

Building Claude Skills: a hundred pages, one idea, and that is fine

A slim book about turning repeated work into reusable instructions. The idea is old and good; the packaging is product-shaped and perishable. What is worth keeping fits in one chapter.

Building Applications with AI Agents: the UX chapter nobody else writes

I read it half-published, with the measurement and production chapters still unreleased. Even so it delivered the hardest thing to find: how you present, to a person, a system that is sometimes wrong.

Breakthrough Advertising: two chapters that earn their keep and a cult that does not

Sold as advertising scripture and priced like a course. What it genuinely contributes is two ideas, and both change how a service page gets written.

Biostatistics with Python: read from outside medicine

Applied biostatistics, with clinical studies, survival analysis and meta-analysis. Not my field, and that is exactly why it left me the questions a field with serious consequences learned to ask before claiming anything.

Bases de datos: a Spanish vocational textbook that aged unevenly

Storage, the relational model, design, database engines. Half the book is still exactly what you need to know; the other half is screenshots of software nobody opens any more.

Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach: the book that defines the word everyone misuses

A thousand pages of reference. You do not read it straight through and you do not need to; chapter one alone dismantles half the sales conversations about agents.

Artificial Intelligence in Finance: the best manual on lying to yourself with historical data

Machine learning applied to markets. I neither trade nor advise on investments; I read it for the part nobody quotes, which is why a test on the past looks good and reality does not.

Architecture Patterns with Python: patterns to translate inside an ERP, not to copy

Repository, service layer, unit of work, aggregates, events. An excellent book written for people who control their whole application, which is exactly what you do not control inside an ERP.

Aprende SQL: the Spanish textbook I can actually hand to an accountant

A university manual in Spanish, with exercises and self-assessment. Old, terse and free. Its best chapter is the one on null values, which is where nearly everyone goes wrong.

Applied Machine Learning and AI for Engineers: a reminder that not everything is solved by conversation

Regression, classification, networks, vision and text, explained for people who write code and did not come from statistics. Part of it aged badly and part of it is exactly what today's conversations are missing.

Antifragile: the barbell applied to working alone

Some things break under shock, some withstand it, and some improve because of it. The third category is the one Taleb names, and the one missing from nearly every business plan.

An Illustrated Guide to AI Agents: the one I hand to whoever has to decide

Drawings that genuinely explain. Memory, tools, planning, evaluation: every part of an agent separated from the others, so a management team can follow the conversation without writing code.
